Intex Aqua i7

Rs  21,900
Specs: Android v4.2, 5-inch Full HD screen, 1.5GHz quadcore ARM v7 processor, 3GB RAM , 3G, 13MP rear camera

Design
The i7 is a sleek device that is also light-weight despite its 5-inch screen. However, the plastic back is a bit too smooth to be gripped safely in your hands. The Full HD touch screen is really good and packed safe under a sheet of Gorilla Corning glass. Most of the Intex branding clearly seems to have been designed for a 720p environment, not a 1080p screen.

Performance
The device runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2 powered by a 1.5GHz quad core processor with 2GB RAM. So we did not feel the device lagging at any point. However, the phone does heat up a bit towards the top, where the antenna is placed, when it is searching for a network. The Atuntu benchmark score of 15258 put it close to the HTC One X.

Camera

The 13MP camera is good and does reasonably well in low-light too. The gyroscope and g-sensor work over time to reduce shake when you are shooting and that shows in the images. The image quality is good enough for you to take 6x4 prints. Anything more and you will see the noise. We did feel that the shots where a bit hazy at times.

Battery

The phone's 2000 mAh battery seemed to last longer than most other smartphones of this size. And that is a big plus these days. A drain for the battery will be the speakers which are loud enough to vibrate the thin hardware of the phone at higher volumes. You can also run this phone without an SD card as the 32 GB internal storage is good.

Bag it or junk it: Good value for money
